In a week time Florence will be the capital of wine. From September 30th to October 3rd the city hosts Wine Town Firenze, international event gathering together high quality wine producers. A great event dedicated to wine stewards and professional buyers, but also to wine lovers, tourists and Florentine people.
Wine Town Firenze will take place in different locations all around the city center, as well as in beautiful cloisters, palaces and gardens generally not open to the public. The focal point will be Piazza Pitti hosting the other 8 wine capitals, their traditions and wines. In Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Santissima Annunziata there will be wine markets open from 11 to 23. In Santissima Annunziata there will be also children’s activities, such as Vinopoli a nice game dedicated to wine.
During the 4 days there will also be music concerts and shows, workshops and conferences, as well as special exhibits and thematic dinners. You can find Wine Town Firenze program on their webiste. Wine tastings will be every day from 11 to 23 and you need to buy the Wine Card for 10,00 euro. When you purchase the card it has 5 points and you can buy the classic goblet for tastings for 1 point. Each tasting has a different value depending on the wine you are tasting. The wine card can be purchased at the wine markets and wine points or directly at the wine tastings’ locations.
I’m sure you’ve never seen Florence like this!
