Starting July 27, three of Florence’s main museums will open late one Saturday a month. This will allow visitors to enjoy a special visit to the collections of the Uffizi, Accademia and Medici Chapels between 7pm and 11pm on the last Saturday of the month from now until the end of 2013.
For now the pilot program is being offered at 38 locations across Italy, with the idea of setting it up as a permanent offering to allow visitors to widen the possibility of cultural learning and, of course, offering visitors an unforgettable experience.
Dates are therefore: July 27 for the Accademia and Medici Chapels, August 31, September 28, October 26, November 30 and December 28.
These night openings are in addition to the special summer evening openings of the Accademia: during July, August and September, the Accademia is open every Tuesday until 10pm (paid entrance) while on Thursdays it is open from 7pm to 10pm for free.
The Uffizi also offers later hours on Tuesdays in July, August and September, open until 10pm, with last entrance at 9:05pm.
Enjoy an evening at some of Florence’s top museums!
