The Island of Elba is preparing itself to be peacefully invaded by an international group of Instagramers, including some of the most influential “mobile photographers” in Italy and in Europe, including the founder of the network, Phillippe Gonzalez.
From May 15 to 18, the Instagramers will participate in a special photo tour to discover the places where Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte stayed at during his exile on the island, which lasted from May 1814 to March 1815.
The Instatour #Napoleone200 is in fact part of the activities and events organized during the celebrations of the Bicentennial of landing of Napoleon on Elba which will continue until the spring of 2015.
Could Discover Tuscany be missing from this spectacular event? Certainly not! In fact, our team will take part in the Instatour with a special mission: to retrace Napoleon’s footsteps and enchant us with the beauty of the Island of Elba!
The Instatour #Napoleone200 will also host an “event within the event”: on Saturday, May 17 at Marina di Campo the 9th World Instameet will take place, an event open to all apasionados and fans of mobile photography. The program includes a photographic treasure hunt through the streets of the city (click here to register). The Instatour has an official website (in Italian): http://www.instatour.it/.
