June 2 in Italy is a national holiday, the Day of the Republic. All administrative offices will be closed as well as many museums – but, in Florence, these will have special openings (normal entry ticket) from 8:15am to 6:60 pm
and from 8:15am to 6:30pm
- The Boboli Gardens
- Silver Museum – Pitti Palace
- Costume Gallery – Pitti Palace
- Bardini Garden
From 10am to 5 pm, with free entrance, you will also be able to visit the Church and Museum of Orsanmichele.
Museums normally open on Mondays will also be open, and these are:
- The Bargello Museum
- Museum of San Marco
- The Garden of the Medici Villa at Castello
- The Medici Villas of La Petraia, Poggio a Caiano and Cerreto Guidi
- Last Suppers of Ognissanti and Sant’Apollonia
- the Chiostro dello Scalzo
The Palazzo Vecchio Museum and Tower will also be open from 9am to midnight as will the Palazzo Strozzi from 9am to 8pm where you can visit the exhibition on Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino.
