The Chianti Classico consortium, the one that regulates the Chianti Classico DOCG wine region, just presented a new logo of their “black rooster”, the symbol found on all Chianti Classico wines over the world.
The new logo has a cleaner, modern look: lost the borders that recalled sealing wax while the rooster is in a taller, leaner position with chest puffing out and beak open as if it was crowing. Even the background was changed, with white dominating.
The location of the brand on the bottle is also changing: you won’t find it on the pink State sticker but around the bottle’s neck or on the back label.
If you love wine, when you purchase Chianti Classico wines in the next few years you’ll notice the changes.
Chianti Classico is one of the top exports Made in Italy and the “black rooster” trademark has made it recognizable all over the world.
What do you make of the new changes, do you like the new look for Chianti Classico?
